What type of photography is it?
Landscape

What is the intent of the photograph?
Ansel Adams loved nature and spent most of his time until his death in Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada

Does it convey a message about advertising, a product, an emotion… Adams loved nature and climbed the valley of Yosemite each day. He joined a club and stayed in Yosemite valley for a while. He loves his surroundings and took pictures of it.

What emphasis is the photograph?
Black and white, texture

What part of the photo do you look at first? Does your eye move around the photo?
I look at the tree first because its unusual for me to see a tree bent that way. My eye does move around the because it starts with the tree and goes down the branch to the rocks and through the sky.

What emotional impact does the photo invoke?
Intrigue

Try to find out what kind of camera each artist and give a little information about any technique that stands out.
He began using the Kodak No. 1 Box Brownie his parents had given him and then used Large format.

What kind of film is used?
Black and white

My three other favorite artists are Helen Levitt, Roger Fenton, and Lewis Hine.

Stuborn but Smart

From an animals perspective

Taylor is a very unique, sweet girl with lots of love to give. she gives me treats everytime she comes to see me. She is all different shades of black and gray from what I can see. She is shorter than me and 10 times smaller than me. She yells at me when I do something bad. She is very smart because when we go on rides down the road or to the gas station, she points my butt towards the cars and trucks so I don't get scared. She is patient with me and takes her time on things, like brushing me. She is a very talkative person, even though I can't speak English so while I talk with my friends, she is talking to her friends. She loves to go outside with me and loves showing me to her friends. They say I stink, but I can't help it. Taylor is very strong as well. I get really excited sometimes and I take off running. She will yank my head to the left or right which makes me stop.

She will come out late at night when my friends are sleeping and she will lay down with me to do her homework. She comes to my home with clean clothes and always leaves looking really dirty which I feel really bad about. Taylor and I are a great match because we both are goofy in our owns ways and don't care what people think about us. We are a team. We go on midnight rides because she loves the night time, even though she knows I can't see. I know for a fact she is hard working because I see her every saturday morning working at my home from 5a.m. to 5p.m. during the winter and almost everyday in the summer. She loves speed, but has to remember I'm only 1 horsepower, instead of her racecar with A LOT of horsepower.

Edward Weston

1. In your words write a short bio of his photographic experience. Edward Henry Weston (March 24, 1886-January 1, 1958) was an American photographers, and co-founder of Group f/64. Most of his work was done using an 8 by 10 inch view camera. The New York Times newspaper reported on April 14, 2008 that Sotheby’s sold an Edward Weston photograph to a New York art dealer for $1.6 Million.

Born in Highland Park, Illinois on March 24, 1886. He was given his first camera, a Kodak Bull's-Eye #2, for his 16th birthday, when he began taking photographs. His favorite hangouts were Chicago parks and a farm owned by his aunt. Weston met with quick success and the Chicago Art Institute exhibited his photographs a year later, in 1903. He attended the Illinois College of Photography.

In 1906, Weston moved to California, where he decided to stay and pursue a Career in photography. He had four sons with his wife, Flora May Chandler (whom he married in 1909)

Daybooks he kept regularly from the mid-1920s to 1934, which give viewers a glimpse into his personal life, his views on photography, and his working methods. He has been recognized as one of the best photographers of the 20th century. He used a lot of naked, natural women in his photographs. He used black and white also.

1. In your words write a short bio of his photographic experience.

Ansel Easton Adams (February 20, 1902 – April 22, 1984) was an American photographer and environmentalist, best known for his black and white photographs of the American West and Yosemite National Park.

For his images, he developed the zone system, a way to determine proper exposure and adjust the contrast of the final print. The resulting clarity and depth characterized his photographs. Although his large format view cameras were difficult to use because of their size, weight, setup time, and film cost, their high resolution ensured sharpness in his images.

He founded the Group f/64 along with fellow photographers Edward Weston and Imogen Cunningham, which in turn created the Museum of Modern Art's department of photography. Adams' timeless and visually stunning photographs are reproduced on calendars, posters, and in books, making his photographs widely recognizable.

2. Describe his photographic style and some of his more famous photographs. His photographs are in black in white. His pictures are always of objects like waterfalls, trees, etc.. Nothing with humans in it. All the pictures have an unusual way of movement. The objects he photographs are outside and in large areas.
